Georgia and the rest of the conference welcome Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC in hilarious new SEC Short
On July 1, the SEC officially expanded to include both Texas and Oklahoma. The conference now has 16 teams.

The SEC is expanding and on July 1, the conference officially welcomed Oklahoma and Texas with open arms. Well, that last part might not be true, but the Sooners and Longhorns are members of the 16-team conference that expects to dominate college football.
However, Texas and Oklahoma don’t just bring historic and competitive football programs to the conference, OU arrives with an unstoppable dynasty in softball, which the Sooners made sure to mention in the latest SEC Shorts.
The fantastic YouTube series captured the tension that could envelop the SEC media days just two short weeks from now. Oklahoma and Texas have a seat at the table with the likes of Georgia, Alabama, and LSU, but that doesn’t mean that everybody has to get along.
Even with the powerful new arrivals, Georgia may not get too caught up in the fighting because the Bulldogs are the favorites to win the SEC and even Texas hasn’t changed that.
On top of that, Carson Beck remains the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at most sportsbooks, though Quinn Ewers is right in the mix at the top.
Beck and Ewers will match up in Austin on October 19 as the Bulldogs personally welcome Texas to the conference with a mid-season matchup.
Georgia doesn’t have Oklahoma on the schedule, but the SEC could make up a large chunk of the 12 teams in the College Football Playoff, so a meeting in 2024 isn’t off the table.
