Metatrader, on the other hand, is the best free online trading app and loads faster than TradingView.  It has a wide array of indicators.  But it comes with other challenges which I’ll highlight in this segment.

Problems with MT4

Here are the issues faced by the MT4 users':

No Support service for MT4

Customer support is paramount to any organization worldwide.  So, if you find issues with your platform, you can contact your support care. However, the MT4 lacks this feature, which makes its user stuck when the issue arises. Although the system is free, there’s no way you could fix bugs or issues when they arise.

You can lose all your data in case your system crash

The MT4 platform is permanently installed on users' local devices. That means, when your computer crash, likely you’ll you lose all your data, including your MT4 settings. 

Additionally, in case you want to trade while you’re aboard, it will be hard because you can’t bring your computer over. Plus, it’s difficult to trade with your smartphone, especially if you want to win more. However, you can use a laptop but the settings will not be familiar like one on your home computer. 

Unfortunately, you’ll need to re-draw your chats, change your settings and even plot your indicators again.   

You must re-register your MT4 account monthly

When you login into your live MT4 account, you’ll use the platform seamlessly. However, if you’re on the demo account, ensure you register it every month. Otherwise, you won’t access your account. You’ll also receive an invalid account notification as soon as you try to sign up. So, ensure you register your account each month which may sound annoying in the long run.

Just don’t blame the broker because it’s the only way to distinguish between serious or jokers’ traders. Typically, jokers are individuals who don’t want to fund their accounts but use them for free. So, if you hire different brokers to help you monitor many markets be prepared to face this problem.

A limited number of markets

This statement sounds more biased because the MT4 system is designed specifically for Forex traders. So, its markets are based on currency pairs. But some brokers may provide CFDs, which makes it easy to trade indices and common stocks.

Typically, you’re limited to the Forex markets. If you’re a trading guru who trades across multiple markets, MT4 isn’t your right choice. So, open various brokerage accounts to access a full spectrum of markets.

Don’t bother with MT4, especially if you’re an options trader, stock trader, or future trader because it won’t solve your issues. That means MT4 works best in case you’re solely a Forex trader.

The flying trendline

If you’ve been using the MT4 platform for a while, likely you’ve noted the trendlines on your chart are extremely reliable, especially when withdrawing your funds from the Forex broker. 

Sometimes you may spend hours drawing the trendlines on your chats. Unfortunately, when you lay down your timeframe, the same trendline shift itself. So, if you like using trendlines while trading, the MT4 platform isn’t the right choice for you, especially on the live account.
