The rivalry between the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies is considered one of the best in-state rivalries in college football. However, the game has not been played since Texas A&M departed from the Big 12 and joined the SEC before the 2012 season.

Now that Texas has joined the SEC heading into the 2024 season, the rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M is back. Paul Finebaum said on his show, The Paul Finebaum Show, it’s the one game in college football he wants to attend, stating he believes the atmosphere at Kyle Field will be unlike anything experienced in the history of the rivalry.

“I’m going to Texas at Texas A&M,” Finebaum said. “That’s the one game that I want to be at this year. I think the atmosphere in Kyle Field will be unlike any in the history of the rivalry or of the stadium.”

Texas currently holds a 76-37-5 lead over the Aggies, including a memorable victory with a walk-off field goal at Kyle Field in 2011. The game is set for November 30, 2024, and may have implications for the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff.
