FSU football’s Mike Norvell warns about the transfer portal: ‘Leaving is easy’

Florida State football’s (2-10, 1-7 ACC) tumultuous season has come to an end, but Mike Norvell’s challenges are just beginning.

The Seminoles closed their campaign with a 31-11 defeat to in-state rival Florida Gators on Saturday night during rivalry week, marking their 10th and final loss of the season.

Tensions ran high after the game, following another lackluster showing from FSU in front of 55,107 fans at Doak Campbell Stadium, compounded by a postgame altercation.

Norvell did not hide his frustration following the game. When asked directly about the possibility of players entering the transfer portal, he delivered an impassioned five-minute response.

In his remarks, Norvell expressed disappointment at the idea of young players quitting the program in search of better opportunities elsewhere after a 2-10 season — one of the most challenging in Florida State’s storied history.
